LIGONIER – Joseph F. Glaser, 85, Ligonier and formerly of Lake Wawasee, passed away March 6, 2015.
He was born Nov. 18, 1929, in Fort Wayne, to Ben and Ethel Wills Glaser. On Aug. 8, 1950, he married Cloha M. Kettlebar, who preceded him in death in January 2005.
He was self-employed as a GM auto dealer in Ligonier. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Elks and Free Masons, all in Ligonier. One of his major achievements was becoming the number one national truck salesman in 1978.
He is survived by his four children: Ben Glaser, Goshen; Marcia (and Larry) Yoder, Ligonier; Carol (and Steve) Reed, South Whitley; and Heidi Johnson, Syracuse; 12 grandchildren: Joe Glaser, Tracey (and Thomas) Edmundson, Trista Yoder, Bradley (and Erin) Yoder, Jolene (and Jose) Melendez, Tony and Todd Reed, J.J. (and Lindsay), Jeremy (and Ashley), Jordan (and Emily), Jared and Jed Johnson; eight great-grandchildren: Elijah and Sidney Edmundson, Felix Yoder, LaRon Buress, Luis Melendez, Madison, Kensi and Avery Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Betty Glaser-Blue Ganshorn, Bob Brode, Mildred Temple and Rosabelle Ely.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with celebrant Larry Baker officiating. Burial is in Oak Park Cemetery at a later date.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
