AKRON – Josefa Martinez, 75, of 6402 E. CR 500N, Rochester, died at 3:45 a.m. Sept. 11, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born Feb. 1, 1938, in Guanajuato, Mexico, to Rafael and M. Guadalupe Estrada Martinez. In 1955 she married Jose Guadalupe Vera, who preceded her in death Sept. 23, 1988. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking. She was always very active and always full of energy. Surviving are seven daughters: Rafaela (and spouse Leonardo) Palmas, Napa, Calif.; Graciela (and spouse Agustin) Garcia, and M. Dolores (and spouse Alfonso) Rivera, all of Jaral del Progresso, GTO, Mexico; M. Guadalupe (and spouse Jesus) Panales, Akron; Maria Vera, Warsaw; Ana Delia Vera, North Manchester; Marina (and spouse David) Garcia, Rochester; two sons: Uriel (and spouse Maria) Vera, Armadillo, GTO, Mexico; Guillermo (and spouse Sandra) Vera, Akron; 26 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Genoveva, Marisela and Luz Maria; and six brothers: Nicolas, Salvador, Ignacio, Miguel, Manuel and Adolfo. She also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Father Constantino Rocha officiating.
