COLUMBIA CITY - John T. Cowen, 83, of Columbia City, died at 2;48 p.m. Sept. 11, 2010, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Fort Wayne, to Theodore and Ilene Snyder Cowen. On Aug. 6, 1960, he married Norma Jean Woosley, who survives.
Also surviving are a son; a daughter, Linda Slone Needler, North Webster; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with the Rev. Gene Rohrer officiating. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery with graveside honors by members of North Webster American Legion Post.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
