MENTONE – Joan Welborn Zent, 85, Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, and formerly of Mentone, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Sept. 23, 2015, in her residence. She was born April 24, 1930, in Marshall County, to Ernest and Inez Williams Honegger. On May 15, 1949, in Bremen, she married Everett W. Welborn, who preceded her in death Jan. 8, 2000. On Nov. 19, 2005, she married Kermit M. Zent, who preceded her in death May 26, 2007. She was a Bourbon High School graduate. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mentone. She enjoyed shopping and cooking and also loved to travel and spend time with her grandkids. She also had several siblings. Survivors are: two sons, Ernie (and spouse Bonnie) Welborn, Big Bend, Wis., and Gary L. (and spouse Sharon) Welborn, Bourbon; four grandchildren: Brent, Kristin, Amy and Alissa; 13 great-grandchildren; and two stepdaughters, Susie Nellans and Sherry Flenar. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Phillip Welborn. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Michael Wilhite officiating.
