SYRACUSE – Jo Ann Houser, 83, Syracuse, passed away Feb. 5, 2014, at her residence. She was born Feb. 21, 1930, in Indianapolis, to Worth and Goldie Derek Smith. On June 30, 1950, she married Robert E. Houser, who died in 2002. She retired from Key Bank in 1995. She was a longtime member of the Syracuse American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are a son, Robert J. (and spouse Pam) Houser Sr., Syracuse; three grandchildren: Angela (and spouse Jason) Pearson, Edgerton, Ohio; Teresa Houser, Syracuse; Robert J. (and spouse Elizabeth) Houser Jr., Fort Wayne; one stepgranddaughter, Beth Howatt, Syracuse; and seven great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death was a son, Phil. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. Burial is in Syracuse Cemetery.
