SYRACUSE – Jerry Searfoss, 74, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, at his home.
He was born on March 25, 1945, in Syracuse, to Alva and Eva Ritter Searfoss. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Vietnam. On Dec. 27, 1980, he married Kathy Shidler, who survives. He was a retired lineman for NIPSCO. He was a Mason, Shriner and Eastern Star member for many years. He belonged to the Nappanee American Legion Post 154.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Searfoss; son, Bryan Searfoss; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by one son, two sisters and four brothers.
A Masonic service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at 1 p.m., followed by military honors at the Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. Friends may call one hour prior from noon until 1 p.m.
