PIERCETON - Jennie L. Porter, 86, formerly of Pierceton, died at 10 a.m. April 20, 2008, in The Oaks, Columbia City.
She was born March 26, 1922, in Fairmont, to Charles Hershel and Nettie Cox Vetor. On May 21, 1949, in Fairmont, she married Guy A. Porter, who died Dec. 20, 1988.
Living in Kosciusko County since 1956, she was former owner of Jennie's Cafe, Pierceton, and worked at Porter Construction.
Surviving are a son, Tom (and spouse Georganna) Porter, Larwill; two brothers, Darrell (and spouse Helen) Vetor, Fairmont, and Delbert (and spouse Corrinne) Vetor, Bourbon; two sisters, Phoebe (and spouse Russ) Wilson, Westville, and Carol (and spouse JR) Hendrick, Summerville; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers, two sisters, a great-grandson and a granddaughter.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with the Rev. Jerry Blanchard officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
