MENTONE - Jeannette F. Mollenhour, 94, formerly of Mentone, died at 12:17 a.m. May 9, 2009, at Woodland Manor Health Care, Elkhart.
She was born March 30, 1915, in Decatur, Mich., to Charles and Faughn Fultz Bailey. On May 29, 1937, in the First United Methodist Church parsonage in Warsaw, she married Lyman W. Mollenhour, who passed away June 8, 1981.
She owned an operated Jeannettes Beauty Shop and DeLuxe Cleaners, both in Mentone.
She was a member of the Mentone United Methodist Church, Psi Iota Xi Sorority and Mentone Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a past Worthy Matron. She was also in the Jolly Janes Home Ec Club, a member of the Mentone Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Mentone Reading Club. She graduated from Warsaw High School and also Warners Beauty College, Fort Wayne.
Surviving are two daughters, Janice (and companion Robert Haupert) Felix, Farmington, N.M.; Jo Ann (and spouse Gary) Cummins, Granger; two granddaughters, Janell (and spouse Ben) Flesher, Anderson; Desiree (and spouse Chris) Harnish, Wabash; a grandson, Brandon (and spouse Summer) Robinson, Fletcher, N.C.; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah and Owen Flesher; Stacia, Mollie and Emilie Harnish and Chase Robinson; and a great-great-grandson, Devin Harnish. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Felix; a brother-in-law, George Mollenhour Jr.; and three sisters-in-law, Helen Ellis, Flo Plotner and Marjorie Rooy.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with the Rev. Doris Smith officiating. Burial will be at Mentone Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
