AKRON - Jean Ann Whitworth, 69, of Akron, formerly of Merrillville, died at 11:50 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009, in her residence.
She was born April 16, 1940, in Charleston, W.Va., to Otis and Odie Parsons Moore. On March 16, 1958, in Clinton, she married Carl Whitworth Jr., who survives.
She was a homemaker and graduated from Clinton High School in 1957.
Also surviving are a son, Carl III (and spouse Lynn A.) Whitworth, Indiana; two grandsons, Carl IV (and spouse Melissa) Whitworth and Jeremy (and spouse Nicole) Whitworth; a granddaughter, Cassandra Whitworth; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Whitworth, Silver Lake; and six great-grandchildren, Hailey, Taylor, Chase, Corynn, Jaxon and Kaiya Whitworth. She was preceded in death by a son, Scott A. Whitworth Sr.; a grandson, Scott A. Whitworth Jr.; a sister; and nine brothers.
Services will be private at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Tom Hudson speaking. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
No calling is planned.
