Janice Eleanor Andrews, 91, formerly of Green Valley, Ariz., East Lansing, Mich.; and Birmingham, Mich., died Aug. 20, 2011, in Desert Pines Eldercare, Sahaurita, Ariz.

She was born April 24, 1920, in Warsaw, to Roy and Marjorie Ruse. On July 10, 1941, she married Jack DeeHale Andrews, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1937 and was a lifelong member of the O-We-Kon-za Campfire Girls. She attended La Crosse State Teachers College from 1938-40. She served as the house director for Kappa Delta Sorority at Michigan State University from 1975-91, and upon retiring was made an honorary member. She retired to Green Valley, where she was the recording secretary for the Democratic Party for two years and spent many years as an election inspector. She was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church. In 2009, she moved to Desert Pines Eldercare.

Surviving are a sister, Dora Marie Ruse Butler; four children: Janette Dee Andrews, Rochester Hills, Mich.; Judith Ann (and spouse Robert Gregory) Andrews, Granville, N.Y.; James Roy (and spouse Ellen) Andrews, Madison, Conn.; and Jane Louise (and spouse Mark) McCabe, Glenwood Springs, Colo.; and three granddaughters.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 10 at Valley Presbyterian Church, Green Valley.
