Janet Marie TharpJanet Marie Tharp, 83, of Warsaw, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021, at 12:03 p.m. in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
Born July 2, 1937, in Muncie, Janet was the daughter of Frank and Glenna Boyd Tutterrow. She was united in marriage to Francis Tharp in 1972 in Muncie; he preceded her in death.
She worked as a retail clerk for Owl Drug Store in Muncie and for Owen’s Grocery Store in Warsaw. She was a member of the Warsaw Wesleyan Church.
Janet is survived by her children, Arick Phelps, of Warsaw; two stepsons: Chuck (Cindy) Tharp, of Warsaw; Phil Tharp, of Farmland; stepdaughter, Sue Lackey, of Warsaw; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; her friend, Lorretta; and many friends from her church and Courts of Colfax.
She was preceded in death by both parents.
A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 3 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A graveside service will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 4 at Union Cemetery, Farmland, with Pastor Keith Huffman officiating.
Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are suggested, and social distancing is strongly encouraged. No food is permitted at this time.
