BLUFFTON – Janet Heller, 85, Bluffton, passed away at 10:50 p.m. March 31, 2016, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 29, 1930, in Wells County, to John H. “Jack” Lamson and Norma Kain Lamson-Larmore. Her first marriage was to William “Bill” Wolfcale Jr., who preceded her in death. She later married Donald W. Heller, who also preceded her in death.
She graduated from Bluffton High School in 1948 and lived in Wells County until 1988, when she retired from the Wells/Adams Credit Bureau. She then moved to North Carolina and worked at Haywood Community College for 11 years. She returned to Bluffton in 2003, where she was a 30 year active member of Psi Iota Xi sorority, serving two terms as president. She was a lifelong learner who loved music, reading and enjoyed nature. She attended the First Church of Christ in Bluffton.
Survivors include her children: Linda (and spouse John) Deming, Fort Wayne; Beverly (and spouse Dwight) Habegger, Berne; and Craig (and spouse Tami) Wolfcale, Bluffton; and stepchildren: Donald W. (and spouse Gale) Heller Jr. and Mark D. Heller, all of Markle, and Jeffrey A. (and spouse Mary) Heller, Michigan; 12 grandchildren: Kristina (and spouse Rob) McComb, Paul (and Tammy Swihart) Deming, Scott (and spouse Jen) Deming, Lyndsi (and spouse Tyler) Moser, Michael (and spouse Trista) Wolfcale, Brad (and spouse Melissa) Agee, Anne (and spouse Bentley) Boots, Heather Agee, Katelyn Wolfcale, Shad Williams, Shawn (and spouse Annie) Williams and Stephanie (and spouse Rick) Frye; 19 great-grandchildren; and a stepsister, Helen Fitzwater, Edmond, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Charles W. Larmore.
A service to celebrate her life will be at 3 p.m. April 30 at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home, Bluffton. with Pastor Larry Sprinkle officiating. A committal service will follow at the Northridge Mausoleum Niche Shelter at Fairview Cemetery.
Calling will be from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
