COLUMBIA CITY — Janet A. Thompson, 67, South Whitley, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Dec. 23, 2016, at her home surrounded by family. Born Jan. 3, 1949, in Warsaw, she was the daughter of William Harrison and Wilma Marie Fear Warren. She graduated from Warsaw High School with the Class of 1967. On April 26, 1969, she married Rick Thompson at the Warsaw United Methodist Church. She had worked with the Whitko school system and Hipp Drug Co. for over 15 years. She also had her realtor’s license and helped her husband with Thompson Reality. She operated a sun tanning business at her home, Accent Tanning, from 1991 to 1998. Survivors include her husband, Rick Thompson; daughters, Dawn (spouse David) Wilkinson, Laurie (spouse Brian) Cox and Mistie (spouse David) Potts, all of South Whitley; a brother, William "Bill" (spouse Molly) Warren, Leesburg; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Chaplin Karen Kosberg officiating.
