James Martin

James F. Martin passed away at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He was 57 years old. 

He was born Jan. 22, 1960, in Marion, to James N. and Mary Lou Walker Martin.

On April 5, 1999, he was married to Wilma Patrick in Warsaw; she survives. They would share 18 years together.

James was a member of the United States Army, serving during the Gulf War (Operation Desert Storm).

Spending most of his lifetime in Warsaw, James worked for Jack Cooper Transport as a car hauler. He belonged to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 414 and was a past member of Pierceton American Legion Post 258.

Those left with memories to cherish include his wife, Wilma; four daughters: Jamie (Shane Sapp, companion) Brown, Pierceton; Jeannie (Adam) Trexler, Jonesboro; and Jamie (Tim) Allen and Brandi (Manuel) Tlahuetl, both of Warsaw; three sons: James F. Martin II, Goshen; Joshua (April) Martin, Fort Rucker, Ala.; and James Adkins, Dayton, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; father, James N. (Sally) Martin, Marion; and brother, Jon (Angie) Martin, Akron.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Martin, who passed on Dec. 11, 1997.

A graveside service will take place in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18. Military honors will be conducted at the service, performed by American Legion Post 258.
