James ‘Jim’ Troxel

James ‘Jim’ TroxelNAPPANEE – James “Jim” Troxel, age 87, of Nappanee, died at 6:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, at Paddock Springs, Warsaw.  

He was born Nov. 1, 1934, in Elkhart, to Devon and Letha Longfield Troxel.

Mr. Troxel lived most of his life in Nappanee. He was a 1952 graduate of Nappanee High School. On Dec. 30, 1955, he married Barbara Hatfield in the Bourbon United Methodist Church. Jim had worked at Mutschler Brothers in Nappanee, CTS and Nappanee Wood Products and also farmed. He was a member of Nappanee Missionary Church. He enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife and they spent winters in Florida for many years.

Surviving is his wife, Barbara; children: David (Nicole) Troxel, Goshen, Jerry (Oralia) Troxel, Syracuse; grandchildren, Rachel Hartman, Rebekah Troxel, Justin Troxel, Jordan Troxel, Joshua Troxel, Jeremy Troxel, Jonathan Troxel; and sisters: Nanette Eilers, Nappanee, and Sharon (Clyde) Moore, Elkhart.  

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Hicks; and brothers: Dick and Ron Troxel.

Family and friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11 at Nappanee Missionary Church Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. Pastors Dave Engbrecht and Thavisith Mounsithirah will officiate. Cremation will then take place and inurnment will be in South Union Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
