James E. Ball

SYRACUSE – James E. Ball, 89, of Syracuse, passed away Dec. 1, 2011, at the Warsaw Meadows Care Center.
He was born Oct. 14, 1921, in Oakville, to Cecil and Corale Clark Ball. On June 25, 1942, he married Opal Wilson, who preceded him in death in 2003.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, having served in Panama. He was a 32nd degree Mason at the Sulfur Springs Lodge. He retired from Delaware Tool and Die in 1987, and he was co-founder of Ball Rod and Kustom in Syracuse. He served as past president and board member of the Muncie Police and Fire Merit Board.
Survivors include a son, Gary Ball, Syracuse; a granddaughter, Stephanie (and spouse Jeff) Drumm, Lebanon; a grandson, Michael (and spouse Amanda) Ball, Fort Wayne; and two great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a son, Michael.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethel United Baptist Church, Muncie. Burial will be at Mount Summit Cemetery.
Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the church.
