Jalaine K. AndersonMENTONE – Jalaine K. Anderson, 85, of Warsaw, and formerly of Mentone, passed at 11:10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at the Warsaw Meadows Care Center.
Jalaine was born on Oct. 10, 1937, in Kosciusko County, to the late Harry E. and Buthene G. Bowser Smythe. She was a 1955 graduate of Mentone High School. She had worked for Word Inc. and Flexhaust as a shipping clerk. She also worked for Hallmark Party Shop as a sales clerk.
She attended the Mentone United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, napping, gardening and bird watching. Jalaine also collected cookbooks, solved numerous word search puzzles, played the organ and enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her children, Jay and wife Tina Anderson, of Warsaw; and Beth and husband Kevin Morris, of Warsaw; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Jalaine was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kevin and his wife Sue Anderson; brother, Don and his wife Monna Smythe.
The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Michael Walters officiating. The interment will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone. Visitation hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5 at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
