BOURBON - Jacob M. Berger, 14, of 401 N. Harris St., Bourbon, died unexpectedly Aug. 18, 2009, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Plymouth.
He was born Jan. 4, 1995, in Goshen, to Tim and Molly Emkow Berger, who survive in Bourbon.
A Bourbon resident most of his life, he was a freshman at Triton High School, where he was a member of the Triton football, baseball and wrestling teams.
Also surviving are a sister, Megan Berger, at home; a brother, Robby Emkow, at home; grandparents, Lynn and Robert Durkin, McCordsville, and James Emkow, Angola; Diana and Tom Wagoner, Bourbon; and Michael and Linda Berger, Warsaw; and two great-grandmothers, Naomi Strabbing, New Haven, and Norma Church, Bourbon. He was preceded in death by four great-grandparents.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bourbon Bible Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
Calling is from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, is in charge of arrangements.
