Kosciusko County Republican Party Chairman Mike Ragan announced Marsha Dierks resigned as a Jackson Township Advisory Board member, effective Jan. 1, due to her relocating out of the township.
A caucus will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 23 at the town office at the Sidney Fire Station to fill the remaining time of her term.
Dierks was elected Nov. 6, 2018, for a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2019. Her term expires Dec. 31, 2022.
Jackson 1 Precinct Committeeman Tony Ciriello and Jackson 2 Precinct Committeeman Josh Spangle will be the voting members of the caucus.
Eligible members of the caucus, by statutory definition, are the Republican Precinct Committeemen of Jackson Township, Kosciusko County, who has served continuously, from 30 days before the date of the commencement of the caucus.
Members of the caucus, candidates, candidates families, designated caucus staff, Republican Party officials, duly appointed watchers and members of the news media are eligible to attend the caucus.
A Jackson Township Advisory Board member will be elected by secret ballot of the majority of members of the voting caucus to fill the vacancy in the office.
Declarations of Candidacy are available at the office of Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw, and must be filed with Ragan no later than 72 hours before the commencement of the caucus.
Eligible candidates will be allowed a maximum of three minutes to address the voting caucus.
