Izaguirre Jury Trial Starts TuesdayA three-day jury trial begins Tuesday in Kosciusko Circuit Court for a Warsaw man accused of molesting a young child.

Jose Izaguirre, 32, Warsaw, was arrested in 2019 after police received a report from Child Protective Services that he was having sexual intercourse with a 10-year-old child.

According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, the child told police she was about 7 or 8 years old when Izaguirre began touching her. The child said she didn’t know that the touching was weird at first because she didn’t know any differently, but things then became more sexual.

According to court papers, the child said when she was 9 or 10 years old, Izaguirre would force her to have sex, and when she would say no, Izaguirre would hold her down and yell at her. The child said Izaguirre also made her watch pornographic videos with him.

When police spoke with Izaguirre, according to the affidavit, he admitted he began touching the girl when she was 7 or 8 years old and further said that when he moved to Warsaw, he molested the child more than 20 times.

Izaguirre is charged with three Level 1 felonies for child molesting. He is being represented by attorney Jay Rigdon.

Circuit Court Judge Mike Reed is presiding.
