A man was found dead in a car parked and running in front of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department entrance this morning.
He was discovered in a Prius at 8:40 a.m. today in a parking spot along Main Street. The Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office and medics were called to the scene, where the man was pronounced dead.
The man was arrested by the Winona Lake Police Department and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Tuesday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and resisting law enforcement.
At 5:16 a.m. today, he was released on his own recognizance.
His name was not being released this morning pending notification of his family, according to KCSD Captain and Public Information Officer Chris McKeand.
The Coroner’s Office and the KCSD are investigating. The coroner has not ruled on the cause of death.
