For any of your insurance needs, there’s now an Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance office downtown Warsaw at 106 E. Center St.
Mike Saunders, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance agency owner, said he took over John Morris’s account when he retired from Indiana Farm Bureau.
“Basically, this is a program started by Farm Bureau about seven or eight years ago where, actually, agents are taking a book out and they’re opening their own agencies, paying their own overhead, obviously, and staff and everything else like that,” he explained. “We’re still in the agency, with the north office (at 2104 N. Biomet Drive), but we’re separate.”
The downtown Warsaw office’s first official day was Nov. 1.
“Farm Bureau Insurance is a multi-line carrier. We have home, auto, obviously, farm, commercial, life insurance. So we run a gamut,” Saunders said. “But we’re very accessible and we make sure that everybody is able to get what they need.”
Saunders has been with Indiana Farm Bureau for 20 years, and in the insurance industry for over 30 years.
“I actually started my career here in Kosciusko County as an agent with Farm Bureau 20 years ago. I was an agent here for 11 years. Since then, I’ve been an agency manager in central and northwest Indiana for IFBI,” he said.
The reason he’s back in Kosciusko County is because he wanted to come back home where he started.
“I’ve worked alongside John Morris for 11 years before I left. Actually, a lot of the clients he has in his books currently, I wrote. So it’s just kind of a good way to come back in a familiar situation ... I saw it as an opportunity to come home. I was real excited,” he stated.
Besides himself, the office includes Kaleigh Middelkoop, sales associate; Picabo Saunders, sales associate; Jeremy Weirick, sales associate; and Josh Schoeff, sales associate. Weirick and Schoeff work remotely, while Saunders and Middelkoop are in the office.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., but they work Saturdays and Sundays and after-hours by appointment.
