Mr. Gerard, in his column about fifth-graders having sex in a classroom, said, "The whole thing took place in New Orleans."
The incident, while disturbing, did not in fact occur in New Orleans (nor its suburbs), but rather in Spearsville, La. Spearsville is five miles from the Arkansas state line and 349 miles by car from New Orleans.
To claim this incident happened in New Orleans was probably an innocent mistake, but one that certainly needs corrected. My former home has enough problems without this unearned black eye.
