Homemakers Prepare For Exhibits At Home & Family Arts Dept.

The Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers are making preparations for the Home and Family Arts Department open class exhibits at the Kosciusko Community Fair July 10-16.
Exhibit entry is open to anyone and there is no fee to enter exhibits. Exhibit entry day is July 9 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. The open class departments consists of agriculture, crafts, fine arts/photography, foods, food preservation, garden flowers and plants, herbs, needlework, quilting and sewing, according to a news release from Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers.
There is a variety of divisions within each department to cover a wide range of interests. Best of Show honors will be award in each department and are sponsored by Blosser’s Photo Design Center, Blue Barn Berry Farm & Event Venue, Clayton Garden Center, Lowery Sewing & Vacuum Center, Smith Appliances and the families of Barb Busch and Dan and Becky Tusing.
The Home and Family Arts Building will open to the public beginning July 10 at 1 p.m. All exhibits will remain in the building for display during the fair until release day. Along with the exhibits, the Kosciusko County Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions as well as a quilt auction and silent basket auction. Proceeds from the silent basket auction will be used to support the Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers scholarship program.
Exhibits will be released July 16 from noon to 3 p.m. and July 17 from 1 to 3 p.m.
