Herman Anthony Miller, 88, of 74 EMS C1 Lane, Warsaw, died at 10:25 a.m. July 12, 2008, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born Feb. 8, 1920, in Parke County, to Edwin and Mary Dole Miller. He married Dorothy Jane Whitmer, who preceded him in death. They were married for more than 60 years.
Living in Muncie for 35 years, he resided in Warsaw for the last 27 years. He retired after almost 50 years as a tool & die maker. He was a longtime member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church and a member of Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis and Chapman Lake Conservation Club. After retirement he spent time bluegill fishing, working in his rose garden and building and fixing things around the beloved Chapman Lake home. He was a loving, kind and gentle man who was generous to others with his time, friendship and willingness to always provide a helping hand.
Surviving are four children: James (and spouse Bernie) Miller, Fort Wayne; Michael (and spouse Sheryl) Miller, Mattawan, Mich.; Patricia (and spouse David) Lee, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Tony (and spouse Cathy) Miller, Leesburg; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Miller, Marietta, Ga.; and a sister, Rosemary Brooks, Columbus.
Services will be private.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
