Helen Peterson, 83, died at 11:20 p.m. Feb. 12, 2009, in Harborside Healthcare, New Haven.
She was born Oct. 28, 1925, in Bourbon, to Forest C. Listenfelt and Hattie E. Pomeroy. On Dec. 14, 1942, she married Howard Peterson in Bourbon, who died Dec. 31, 2001.
She moved to Fort Wayne from Pierceton in 1998.
She was co-owner of Pete's Bar & Grill, Warsaw, for 30 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 49.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann (and spouse Dennis) Erpelding, Fort Wayne, and Jackie (and spouse Russell) Brown, Pierceton; a son, Chris Peterson, Avilla; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Peterson, in May 2000; two brothers, Miles and Lee Listenfelt; and a sister, Viola Adams.
A private graveside service will be held, with Chaplain Tom Everest, American Legion Post 49, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
