MENTONE - Helen L. Stambaugh, 73, of 205 N. Franklin St., Mentone, died at 2:10 p.m. Jan. 28, 2009, in the Kosciusko Community Hospital Hospital emergency room.
She was born Feb. 6, 1935, in Van Lear, Ky., to Cecil and Ethel Dawson Honeycutt. On Feb. 24, 1968, in Warsaw, she married James Stambaugh, who passed away Sept.17, 2001.
She was a homemaker who lived in Mentone since 2003. She moved to the area from Paintsville, Ky.
Surviving are a daughter, Charlene (and spouse Tim) Moore, Grayson, Ky.; six sons: Jay (and spouse Vickie) Boggs, Harry (and spouse Debra) Stambaugh, all of Mentone; Palmer (and spouse Audrey) Stambaugh, Bobby (and spouse Patricia) Stambaugh, Billy (and spouse Jen) Stambaugh, all of Warsaw; James Robert (and spouse Michelle) Stambaugh, Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Palmer (and spouse Margarette) Honeycutt, Wabash; three sisters: Alice (and spouse Nick) Clatos, Frances (and spouse Dave) Childress, all of Wayne, W.Va.; Charlotte Honeycutt, Paintsville; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Clifford Honeycutt, and a sister, Opal Caudill.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3191 W. CR 200S, Warsaw.
