NORTH WEBSTER – Harry E. Minnick, 87, of Ligonier, and formerly of North Webster and Syracuse, died at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 17, 2012, in his residence.
He was born Aug. 13, 1925, in South Bend, to Harry L. and Clara Etta Hurley Minnick. On Nov. 23, 1946, in North Webster, he married Betty J. Paulus, who died Feb. 13, 2012.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko and Noble counties, he attended York Center and Cromwell public schools and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a self- employed maintenance man. He was a member of American Legion Post 253, North Webster, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1342, Syracuse, and a former member of the Masonic Lodge, Milford, and Scottish Rite, Fort Wayne.
Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne Shock, Ligonier; three sons: Mike (and spouse Lori) Minnick, Ligonier; Matt (and spouse Kristi) of Sarasota, Fla.; and Marshall (and spouse Linda) Minnick, Syracuse; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons and three brothers.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition, with Pastor Steve Linebaugh officiating and with military graveside rites by members of North Webster American Legion.
