In a recent Supreme Court decision, it was ruled that the right to carry a weapon was in fact an individual's constitutional right. Here are some things for you to consider. Barack Obama plans to change the "Right to Carry Arms/Second Amendment". Referencing the NRA's publication of "Barack Obama's 10-point plan to Change the Second Amendment," I have provided several points of Obama's plan.
Obama's Plans:
n Ban the use of firearms for home defense
n Pass laws eliminating your right to carry
n Ban the making, sale, and possession of hand guns
n Ban rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting
n Increase federal taxes on guns and ammunition by 500 percent.
n Expand Clinton's semi-auto gun ban to include millions more firearms.
n Require everyone to have a government-issued license to purchase a firearm.
n Appoint judges to the Supreme Court who share his views on the second amendment
These proposals disturb me and I believe are not in line with the Presidential Oath of Office "to support and defend the constitution."
These proposed changes will lead to the elimination of our constitutional right to carry a weapon. I question Obama's judgment to lead our country and protect our freedoms and rights.
