I won't harp on the right of an unborn baby to live. It is so obvious that you would have to be very irresponsible not to acknowledge that right.
But I will speak on my right and duty to protect my family members and myself against threatening home intruders. I doubt any rational thinking person would disagree with this. After all, if someone breaks into your home in the middle of the night intending to take what they want, surely you would defend your family would you not?
I'm too old to rely on a cane or baseball bat or a knife because I would have to be close to the intruder and would likely get hurt. Consequently, it is my right of self preservation and my duty to protect my family by being well armed and adequately trained.
Now to the issue. I don't watch debates for one very good reason: All candidates say what they believe will entice the listener to vote for them.
Strengths are embellished and weaknesses are hidden.
Instead, I research the candidates history because this gives me well documented FACTS, not rhetoric, lies or innuendo.

Obama said, "... just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can't constrain the exercise of that right."
This presents a fairly consistent pattern, don't you think? Guns are bad! People whom use them in self defense should be prosecuted! The government has the power to over ride individual rights!
I'm not a one issue voter; but I know that honoring God, freedom to defend oneself and family, respect for life, and respect for the symbol of everything for which this nation stands (our flag) has contributed to making this the greatest nation on earth.
