Grossnickle Eye Center Sponsors Puppy In Leader Dog ProgramAt Christmas, the physicians and staff at  Grossnickle Eye Center raised $1,900 to sponsor a puppy training in conjunction with the Leader Dogs for the Blind program.

“The program is 100 percent philanthropically funded,” says Grossnickle Eye Center surgeon Dr. Matthew Ralstin. “As eye care specialists, we were excited to support a group dedicated to helping those with impaired vision maintain their independence and mobility.”

Leader Dogs for the Blind provides tools and training to reintroduce people to a life of independence, confidence and companionship.

Their services are provided free of charge to clients and include everything from white cane training to Leader Dog training.

“They’re doing something important,” said  Ralstin. “And we’re happy to be a part of it.”
