Staff Report-
Golden Artist Colors (www.goldenpaints.com) will hold two free lecture/demonstrations, hosted by the Grace College Art Department, April 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. and April 24 from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Open to any interested teen or adult, the event will be held in the painting studio of Mount Memorial Hall, room MM109.
Taught by working artist Merle Rosen (www.merlerosen.com), the demo is a fun, informative lecture covering a technical review of acrylics and their varied application possibilities. Learn how acrylics can be used as grounds for other media, such as watercolor or colored pencil; get key information on color mixing and blending; learn to control drying time; and see how gels can be used to modify paint properties or create unique textural surfaces. From traditional to contemporary to mixed media, acrylics are infinitely versatile. Learn how two new product lines that Golden recently released can extend your artwork in new directions.
Artists of all levels will come away from the demo with fresh new insights to feed their creative expression. Friday's session will be geared for students, while Saturday will focus on adult artists, but participants can attend whichever session best fits their schedule. All participants will receive free product samples and a literature packet, including a hand-painted color chart.
Space is limited; RSVP to Amy Keith at keithac@grace.edu
