Grace Duo Named To All-Tournament Team MondayKOKOMO – Grace’s women’s golf team placed five players in the top 10 at the IU Kokomo Classic on Monday.
The Lady Lancers shot 338 as a team, seven strokes off winning the tournament at Kokomo Country Club. The event, originally scheduled to be two days, was condensed to a single round on Monday after Sunday was canceled.
Sydney Abbott and Kara Godsey both earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Abbott fired an 81 to place third on the individual leaderboard, and Godsey was fifth with an 83.
Rachel Harvey carded 85 to place eighth, and Anna Marshall and Lauren Keiser tied for ninth overall with an 86. Kristin Holt carded a round of 90 to round off Grace’s scoring.
Olivia Shaw shot an impressive 88, and Amanda Gifford finished with 97 for Grace’s B team.
“Sydney has been solid all spring, and this is the second time Kara has made an All-Tournament Team,” said Grace head coach Denny Duncan. “We have one more tournament and a week of practice to get ready for conference. We haven’t played to our potential this spring, and I’m excited to see what we can do in the final week.”
The Lady Lancers have one tournament left before the postseason. Grace will play in the Huntington Invitational on Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
