Kudos to Gary Gerard's News Views in the weekend paper.
It is clear that this Wall Street mess was not due to Republican policies. On May 26, 2006, Sen. McCain spoke on the FHERR Act of 2005. He warned that if this congress did not act, an entire collapse would happen.
On the war: It's about time we follow their Islamists thugs into Pakistan. There should be no restraint for any country that harbors Osama and his like. They killed us on our soil, so go get 'em. Who cares what Europe thinks - we've saved their buns from the fire and shed our blood on their soil, through two world wars, with a total death toll of 524,024? Respect us or not, who dies to free them?
On Mitch Daniels: He came into office promising to get Indiana out of debt and into the black. He did it. Mitch does visit with small-town folks. He was in the tiny town of Urbana not long ago. By the way, the toll road was leased, not sold. He has followed through on his promises. Too bad the methods do not suite everyone.
On Sarah Palin: She has had more experience in leading as Alaska's governor than Obama or Biden put together. Obama has been in the senate less than four years and has spent most of it trying to win the nomination for president. How many bills has he written? I would like the number and what they were.
Sarah Palin is a political natural. She's smart, gutsy and more than ready to lead. She reminds me of everything I've read about Harry Truman. McCain picked Palin because she can handle today's issues, an experienced leader and women love her. Most women can see the jewel she is for this nation. Unlike Hillary, I haven't seen Sarah sitting in a Hoosier bar slugging down shots of alcohol, being one of the "good ol' boys." She would make a fine vice president (hence all the name calling). Belittle her all you want, but she has more brains than the empty shirt running for president named Obama, and Biden is a joke.
On George Bush: Bush restored integrity to the White House. He has voted favorably for veterans issues and increased military pay. He mourns those who fall and visits the wounded. All the name calling against all these conservatives is the "final refuge of the desperate - the final unraveling."
On Obama: So much to be said, so little time. He is a wealthy man, owning a million dollar-plus estate. He has accomplished nothing other than massing a fortune from kickbacks.
I ran across a buried news release concerning his half brother. According to the paper, the brother lives on $1 a month in poverty in Africa. Why would he care about any of you - he cares not for his brother? He's a socialist. A coward.
