BOURBON - Goldie B. Walters, 93, of 3313 18B Road, Tippecanoe, peacefully entered into rest at 7:15 p.m. Aug. 25, 2008, in Life Care Center, Rochester. She was ill for only the past two weeks.
She was born June 1, 1915, in Petoskey, Mich., to James and Bertha Tyson Dicus. In 1934, she married William V. Walters, who died in December 1993.
She lived in Tippecanoe most of her life.
Surviving are a daughter, Verna (and spouse Wayne) Carlin, Warsaw; two sons, Duane (and spouse Geneal) Walters and Herschel (and spouse Rose) Walters, all of Bourbon; seven grandchildren: Cindy (and spouse Ralph) Howard, Sebring, Fla.; Ted Carpenter, Kelley (and spouse Orlin) Miller, Jackie (and spouse Dan) Kindig and Brett (and spouse Sharon) Walters, all of Bourbon; John (and spouse Terri) Carpenter and Kristi (and spouse Jason) Webster, all of Warsaw; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a longtime, faithful member of the Tippecanoe Community Church. She spent her years as a homemaker, enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, embroidery, working jigsaw puzzles and making many doll clothes for her family.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Tippecanoe Community Church with Larry Kreft officiating. Burial will be in Tippecanoe Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
