I turned CNN on the other night just in time to observe the Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin stating that, "She was going to leave the Republican race in the hands of God." Wow! Is God a Republican?
Then, just a day later in another speech, she ended her speech by saying, "God bless America." Maybe she does have a Republican deity looking over her. Nonetheless, Roger Williams, a 17th century Salem minister contented that, "Government officials should confine themselves to civil affairs and not interfere with the religious matters."
What is the wall of separation between government and religion? Is Sarah Palin trying to use the concept of God as a transforming force for her Republican interest, consequently, by manipulating the self-determination of Christians, and other citizens who believe in the idea of god? Futhermore, is Sarah Palin trying to acquire "soldiers of the church" to fight a self-serving battle for the republicans in the name of God?
