"What is truth?" Jesus was asked. He had earlier declared, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me." Does truth, therefore, come only from God?
Have our current leaders, our educators, our media including local journalists and letter writers - have each of these been conveyors of truth? Has each earned your trust? Or is your understanding of what is true at least equal to others even if it's totally opposite? i.e. Are all understanding, all beliefs equally good and equally true?
Was this so in 1776? Our Founding Fathers had declared certain "truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal," and are "endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights" like life and liberty. Sure sounds like they knew who the absolute truth teller was as they put their trust in him by creating the world's most successful constitutional republic. Do you suppose the founders would agree with our current leaders that other forms of government are equally good, even if totally opposite?
How and why is it most current signs of larger government, higher taxes, less freedom and personal responsibilities point to less trust in God and more trust in government? Honest Abe Lincoln put his finger on this predicament when he professed, "The philosophy of the classroom in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next." What then is the current classroom philosophy and is it equally good and true even if it's totally opposite?
Less than a century ago, our Creator was expelled from this country's classrooms. Filling the vacuum and in violation of our First Amendment is the atheistic belief in no God, the godless religion of evolutionism.
Unfortunately, freedom of religion, speech and press have likewise been expelled preventing debate of this illegally established godless religion. Indoctrination of impressionable youth was and is the goal to convince the young that all life came from non-life by the miracle of time (i.e. millions of years). Our Creator who was there at the very beginning has been replaced by the beliefs of men who were not there. These human leaders like others in every discipline and vocation are not objective unbiased seekers of truth. They're not neutral nor are those institutions that masquerade the fairy tale of evolution as truth.
Evolution is the foundation upon which the devil introduced many other evils like communism, socialism, Naziism and abortionism. Each of these evils caused the death of millions. Speaking of death, the devil, and deception, Jesus warned, "He was a murdered from the beginning and does not stand in the truth ... he is a liar and the father of it."
Tragically, the Democrat party enshrined the devil's evil agenda of murder and deception by enshrining abortionism in their party's platform. As a result, every day since the Supreme Court's Jan. 22, 1973, unconstitutional decision, thousands of innocent precious unborn babies are exterminated. Equally tragic is the licentious sycophantic support of the education establishment (especially higher education) and of major media (especially ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, and NBC). Not surprisingly, the late Pope John Paul II called this satanic agenda of murder and deception: "the culture of death."
May the Lord, not government, be our shepherd so we may know the truth and be set free.
