Election day is past. The public has spoken. I prayed concerning the election. I encouraged others to do likewise, yet the election did not turn out the way I had hoped. The Lord did not answer my prayers. Perhaps many of yours neither.
As Christians, we do feel and know that our God is in charge. I think His Word says, "Things are going to get worse in future." That does not say or look good for the future president. I feel God's Word would still be right if we would have a few more good years. The bad years could come further in the future if McCain had won.
Don't forget the Bible verse "If, if, if my people will turn away from their wicked ways then, I will heal their land." Can it be our God is dissatisfied with the people of our land? That, maybe is why He (God) did not answer my (Christians) prayers. The people maybe are worshiping false gods. Our God is a jealous God. He wants us to worship Him. He wants us to have "an abundant" life according to His Word.
Too bad as I see it, there is too much immorality in our land. That displeases our God. Abortion, too many divorces, same-sex marriage, children carrying guns to school and more. The people is satisfying their own feelings rather than God.
I thank our God often and marvel, because we have had the most beautiful summer that I can remember. No thunderstorms (only two mild ones). It has been as near perfect I think our God can give us. Wonder why? Well most all, maybe everyone is a child of God here in this village, so then our God is just plain good to us.
That is my observation of the election. What is yours?
