Gloria J. Moore, 76, of Newark, Ohio, and formerly of Kosciusko County, died at 3:08 a.m. Jan. 27, 2008, in Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, Ohio.

She was born Dec. 1, 1931, in Warsaw, to Paul O. and Naomi Lackey Cook. Her former husband, Charles Moore, preceded her in death.

She was a former receptionist at the Council on Aging. Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she moved to Newark in April 2007, to be closer to her son and daughter-in-law. She was a member of Warsaw Baptist Church and Baptist Women and did missions work in Silsbee, Texas; Atlanta, Ga.; and North Carolina. She taught Bible studies and Sunday school. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking, and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Stephen R. (and spouse Lynda) Moore, Utica, Ohio; a daughter, Janet A. Moore, Warsaw; two brothers, Ed and David Cook, both of Warsaw; a sister, Elaine (and spouse Paul) Evans, Fort Wayne; three grandchildren: Michelle (and spouse Jimmy) Zernial, Silsbee; Heather (and spouse Bryon) Buck, St. Joseph, Mich.; Jennifer (and spouse Scott) Simmons, Centerburg, Ohio; and five great-grandchildren: Jackie and John Carter, Dylan M. Simison, Mary Katelyn Buck and Hayden M. Simmons. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Cook, and a sister, Dixie Warren Stabler.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Burial will be in Cooks Chapel Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
