Glenna Marie Hill, 58, of Waukegan, Ill., and formerly of Warsaw, died at 5:30 a.m. Nov. 30, 2009, in Brentwood North Nursing and Rehabilitation, Riverwoods, Ill., after an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 7, 1950, in Warsaw, to Fredrick W. II and Mary Jane Grandstaff Schmitt. On Nov. 19, 1983, in Warsaw, she married Mike Hill, who survives in Waukegan.
She moved to Waukegan from Warsaw in 1983. She worked at Warsaw Moving and Storage for 13 years; Six Flags Great America, Gurnee, Ill., for eight years; worked in merchandising at her Hallmark, Waukegan for six years; and she was in animal control with the Waukegan Police Dept. She was active in Boy Scouting in Waukegan with her son; was a member of Warsaw Order of Eastern Star; and she loved animals - especially cats.
Also surviving are a son, Daniel Hill, Waukegan; her mother, Mary Jane Schmitt, Warsaw; two brothers, Paul (and spouse Kristy) Schmitt, Warsaw, and Fred "Corky" (and spouse Sharon) Schmitt III, Vine Grove, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Fredrick Schmitt II, who died Feb. 16, 2004.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiating by Pastor Gary Boschain of First Christian Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
