Whitko Earns 2nd Straight Win On The Links

WARREN – For the second time in as many days, Whitko’s girls golf team earned a non-conference win. On Tuesday the Wildcats took a 201-214 win over host Southern Wells at Dogwood Glen Golf Course in Warren.

Senior Bailey Wright led the way for the Wildcats, posting a 47. Summer West added a 50, while Augusta Garr and Erin Starkweather both shot 52.

Georgia Hanauer from Southern Wells was medalist with a 43.

Next up for Whitko is a match with West Noble and host Wawasee at Maxwelton Golf Club in Syracuse. First tee is set for 4:30 p.m.



Squires Fall To Columbia City

NORTH MANCHESTER – Fielding a full team for the first time this season, Manchester dropped a non-conference girls golf match 185-226 to visiting Columbia City at Sycamore Golf Club Tuesday.

Samantha Kissell paced the Lady Squires in the 9-hole competition with a 4-over par 42. Alissa Bickerstaff posted a 53, Kayla Hippensteel a 62 and Delani Henderson had a 69.

“It was great tonight to finally have a team score,” said Manchester coach Josh Troyer. “We have some room to grow but I am proud of the girls work ethic and focus already this season. We will get back at it with practice (today) and continue to prepare for our next match on Thursday.”

That match will be at Peru in Three Rivers Conference play, and will be contested at Rock Hollow Golf Club at 5 p.m.



Valley Falls To Peru, Northwestern

ROCHESTER – Tippecanoe Valley dropped a three-way non-conference girls golf match at Round Barn Golf Course in Rochester Tuesday. Northwestern posted a 206 to collect two wins, while Peru posted a 214 to the Vikings’ 221.

Valley was paced by Madelyn Weaver who shot a 50, followed by Molly Moriarty with a 54 and Kaydence Mellott with a 57. Lily Ault and Lydia Miller each posted a 60.

Valley is back in action Thursday, visiting Northfield for a Three Rivers Conference match at Honeywell Golf Club in Wabash. First tee is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
