Girls Golf Season Ends In Regional TourneyKENDALLVILLE — Playing on a sloppy track, Wawasee placed eighth and Warsaw 14th in the IHSAA East Noble Regional girls golf tournament Monday at Noble Hawk Golf Links.

The event was postponed from Saturday because of rain and got started 75 minutes late Monday because of fog. There was plenty of standing water around the course.

The top three teams out of 18 and top five individuals not on those teams earned a berth in the State Finals Oct. 4-5 at at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.

Homestead (282), NorthWood (324) and Penn (333) led the team competition.

Wawasee (362) was represented by Belle Brunner (79), Tate Cowan (91), Jadison Rostochak (92), Taylor Cripe (100) Valerie Haessig (103).

The cut for the advancing individuals was 78.

Brunner’s day featured birdies on Nos. 11, 14 and 17 with five pars and seven bogeys.

Players for Warsaw (390) were Grayson Kilburn (89), Marie Frazzetta (92), Sydney Lancaster (100), Delayney Byron (109) and Brooklyn Fitzgerald (116).

Manchester’s Sam Kissell shot an 85, tying for 29th place, even after taking a 10 on the par-5 No. 4. Whitko’s Guinny Garr shot a 102.
