Gerald P. ‘Toad’ HeplerNAPPANEE – Gerald P. “Toad” Hepler, age 74, of Milford, died at 6:52 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, unexpectedly of natural causes at his residence.  

He was born March 25, 1947, to Elmer and Florence Marquart Hepler in Warsaw. On May 27, 1978, he married Linda Bricker in Nappanee. She preceded him in death April 25, 2013.

Mr. Hepler was a graduate of Milford High School and a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Zimmerman Newcomer Gravel in Milford. Toad was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and Bears.

Surviving are his two children: Tiffany (Chad) Nolin, of Milford; and Travis (Nicole) Hepler, of Buchanan, Mich.; stepdaughter, Staci (Jason) Locke, of Leesburg; three grandchildren: Everleigh Nolin, Mason Hepler and Mila Hepler; one stepgranddaughter, Brianna (Noah) Santoyo; brother, Robert Hepler, of Syracuse; and sisters: Marilyn Shaw, of Florida; Ruthie (Bert) Manges, of Bremen; and Delores Hepler, of Goshen.  

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service, which will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 also at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery.
