NAPPANEE - Gerald J. Hartman, 76, of 854 S. Jackson, Nappanee, died at 2:52 a.m. Aug. 22, 2010, in Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Illinois, to Arlie Hartman.
Moving to Nappanee from Warsaw six years ago, he was a baker and worked at Party Cakes Bakery, Illinois, and Owens Supermarket, Warsaw.
Surviving are a son, Brian (and spouse A.J.) Hartman, Nappanee; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Arlene Foster, Warsaw, and Glenda (and spouse Glenn) Kreft, Tippecanoe. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Tom Schiefer officiating. Burial will be in Tippecanoe Cemetery.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
