Georgiana Brandt Oakes, 86, of 108 Hillcrest St., Lake Placid, Fla., died at 3:15 p.m. May 20, 2007, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born April 21, 1921, in Hillsboro, Wis., to Frank and Mildred Matousek. On May 16, 1942, she married Willard J. Brandt, who preceded her in death. On April 6, 1990, she married Steven Andrew Oakes, who preceded her in death.
Living in Wisconsin and Florida, she was a teacher at Milwaukee (Wis.) University School, and was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Lake Placid.
Surviving are a daughter, Lennis Becker, Boston, Mass.; a son, Willard Brandt, Warsaw; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Matousek, Lake Placid; and a sister, Libby Sterba, Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service will be at a later date. Burial will be in Wisconsin Memorial, Milwaukee.
No calling is planned.
