George L. White, 81, Warsaw, passed away at 2:55 a.m. June 13, 2014, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born Dec. 4, 1932, in Evanston, Ill., to George Sr. and Vera Dopp White. On March 2, 1952, in Warsaw, he married Sally S. Siders, who survives in Warsaw. He was a Warsaw resident since 1948. He was the former president of United Telephone System and was employed with them from May 11, 1953, to Dec. 31, 1992, and retired with 40 years of service. A quiet servant of the community, he was a member of Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church, Warsaw, a former member of Tippecanoe Lake Country Club, Leebsurg, a former president of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash in 1990. Also surviving are two daughters: Nancy Valdiserri, Indianapolis, and Joyce (and spouse John T.) Wayhart, Wheaton, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Jeanne White, Warsaw; and six grandchildren: Kristen, Jenna and Stephen Valdiserri, and Kathryn, Jordan and Joseph Wayhart. He was preceded in death by a brother, John, and a sister, Judy. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church, Warsaw, with the Rev. Corinne Hodges officiating.
