George E. Jones Jr. passed away and went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 60 at 2:23 a.m. Feb. 8, 2017. He resided in Battle Creek, Mich., but was formerly a resident of Syracuse. He was born Nov. 1, 1956, to George E Sr. and Martha J. Jones in Portland. He was a 1975 graduate of Wawasee High School. He was a former employee of Fairmont Homes and worked as a group leader and plumber for 14 years. He was involved in the mobile home manufacturing industry for over 20 years. He worked at EPI in Battle Creek. He attended Syracuse Church of God. He is survived by his significant other, Millie L. Henderson, Battle Creek. He also is survived by his three sons: Jamie (spouse Wendy) Jones, North Webster; Shaun Jones, Syracuse; and Kelsey Jones, Battle Creek; along with 11 grandchildren; as well as three sisters: Rebecca (spouse Gary) Rodeffer, Muncie; Marcia Jones, Ossian; and Margie (spouse Bart) Hedington, Warsaw; two nephews; and one niece. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church of God in Syracuse, with Pastor Stan Owen officiating. ***** Memorials to the American Cancer Society or Syracuse Church of God.
