COLUMBIA CITY - Geneva M. Leap, 83, of 310 Shinneman Drive, Columbia City, died at 2 a.m. March 26, 2007, in her residence. She was in the loving care of Parkview Home Health and Hospice for two months.
She was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Noblesville, to O.E. and Crystal Swonger Sylvester. On Oct. 5, 1939, in Greenfield, she married Darrell E. Leap, who survives.
A homemaker, she spent most of her married life in the North Webster and Knapp Lake areas before moving to Columbia City in 2004.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Carolyn) Roy, Columbia City; two sisters, Mrs. Lee (Rosie) Trimmer, Larwill, and Mrs. Ray (Virginia) Penn, North Webster; a brother, Estle (and wife Barbara) Sylvester, Pierceton; two granddaughters, Mrs. Gregg (Lisa) Robinson and Christine Opperud, both of Warsaw; two great-grandsons, Darrell and Jordan Bryant, both of Warsaw; two sisters-in-law, Betty Sylvester, Pompano Beach, Fla., and Vesta Sylvester, Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Gene, Perry and Bobby Sylvester.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mock Cemetery, North Webster, with the Rev. Elizabeth Pulawski of Parkview Home Health and Hospice officiating.
No memorial service or calling are planned.
