Gene Martin Farling, 83, Warsaw, passed away at 9:59 p.m. Feb. 12, 2014, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Muncie, to Frank and Ruth Anguish Farling. On Nov. 7, 1956, in Warsaw, he married Marilyn Haynes, who survives. He served in the U.S. Air force in the 580th REPRO Squadron, a communication group. He worked in management for Zimmer Inc. as a biomedical engineer. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49, Warsaw. He was very proud of having a private pilot’s license. He started flying when he was just 15 years old. He also liked motorcycles and he enjoyed being at Chapman Lake. Also surviving are two sons, Toby (and spouse Lana) Farling and Terry (and spouse Toni) Farling, all of Warsaw; and three grandchildren: Courtney, Chelsey and Clay Farling. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors.
