Editor, Times-Union: I am writing in support of Christie Gale for the district 4 school board position. Christie moved to Warsaw and immediately embraced the school community. When a school board position opened in 2011, she eagerly pursued the opportunity to become even more involved with the education of the children in our town. At the Meet the Candidates night a week ago, Christie Gale expressed that the focus of our schools needs to be the students and the tools they need for success. I was impressed with Gale’s comment that “happy teachers” are an important tool. Gale sees the value of supporting our teachers and keeping morale high for these crucial leaders that spend hours with our children each day. As a member of our school board she will continue to ensure that decisions that are made are fair and supportive to teachers. In her professional life as an attorney and business owner, Gale is aware of the significance of technology in our world. Christie understands that technology needs to be in our classrooms as well. She comprehends social media and its impact on modern life and that students need to be taught how to use this life tool responsibly. Christie Gale is a forward thinking member of our school board. Please vote to keep her there! Alina Willig Winona Lake, via e-mail
